Owner/Veterinarian of Paws at Peace
Dr. Taro Cuetara is a 1997 UC Davis Veterinary Medicine graduate. After graduation, he worked in the Sacramento valley for 25 years, doing both general practice and emergency medicine. Initially at Woodland Veterinary Hospital, then at Mueller Pet Medical Center in Sacramento.
Over the last 3 years, Dr. Taro left clinical practice to do full-time in home euthanasia with a national company. In that time, he helped to give over 1,300 dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds a peaceful passing. Surrounded by family, and in the comfort of their home. This badly needed career change restored Dr. Taro's love of veterinary medicine. And gave him the most touching and rewarding years of his veterinary career.
Due to a love of surgery and an ongoing desire to help dogs and cats, Dr. Taro also works locally doing high volume spay/neuter surgery. In his spare time, he enjoys camping (mostly glamping), fishing, traveling, riding quads, and spending time at his Auburn ranch with family and pets (3 dogs, 2 parrots, numerous koi fish, 2 llamas, 2 pot belly pigs, 5 pygmy goats, and a partridge in a pear tree). And he helps his wife, Julie, manage their CuetaraCare Animal Rescue and Sanctuary (specializing in tortoises and turtles). Dr. Taro has also been a rabid 49ers fan for over 40 years. Go Niners!
